These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LivingWord Chat ("Service"), operated by Maranatha Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

LivingWord Chat is an AI-powered chat platform that enables churches, pregnancy centers, campus ministries, and Christian nonprofits to provide automated theological conversations, informational chat, and visitor engagement on their websites. The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate responses and is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, professional counseling, or medical advice.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• Each account is associated with one organization. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to make the AI produce harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying models or algorithms.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with an organization.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

4. AI Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI-generated responses are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise) and are not a substitute for pastoral care, licensed counseling, or professional services. AI responses may contain errors or inaccuracies. You acknowledge that:

• The AI is a tool to assist, not replace, human ministry and pastoral care.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated response.
• You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI responses as they relate to your organization.

5. Intellectual Property

• Our Property: The Service, including all software, design, and content, is owned by Maranatha Technologies and protected by intellectual property laws.
• Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you provide (organization information, custom configurations). You grant us a license to use this content solely to provide the Service.
• Chat Data: Conversation data generated through the Service is accessible to your organization via the dashboard and is subject to our Privacy Policy.

6. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data, including chat conversation data. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Subscription & Billing

• Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
• Free trial terms: 14-day trial on all paid plans. No credit card required during trial. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your account will be downgraded to the Starter plan.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

8. Crisis Resources Disclaimer

The Service includes automated crisis detection that provides resources such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline when it detects potential crisis situations. These resources are provided as-is for informational purposes. LivingWord Chat is not a crisis service, and we do not guarantee that crisis situations will always be detected. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maranatha Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Any content generated by the AI, including errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein.

Our total liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

• You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through the dashboard.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason with 30 days' notice.
• Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
